Job Description

Responsible for component design, tests and evaluation to ensure product compliance

Identify design issues and determine design direction, goals and plan tasks for segments of engineering program.

Propose design alternatives and using DFM&A, DOE or FMEA tactics to provide solutions to technical problems.

Perform of worst case and statistical tolerance analyse techniques, functional dimensioning, geometric tolerancing and design validation.

Publish reports on complex technical problems and engineering evaluation.

Liaise with suppliers to develop new processes and component delivery dateline.

Interface with the cross functional team members, suppliers & customers throughout the development cycle.

Interface with alliance for outsourced projects to ensure product execution and on-time delivery whilst meeting customer expectations and quality standards

Job Competency        

Basic Qualification: Diploma/ Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Minimum Experience : At least 3 to 5 years of relevant telecommunication product design experience.
Good hands-on experience in sheet metal, plastics and rubber parts design; plastic injection molding processes and secondary processes.

Experience in vendor management and project management of product development.

Good knowledge of Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFM&A), Design of Experiment (DOE),  FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) and Six Sigma  is preferable.

Expected Skills: Proficient in Pro-Engineer, Solid work and CAE. Well versed in Microsoft Office.                

Good commercial sense, good analytical, written, presentation and verbal communication skills.

Good interpersonal communication skills and ability to operate within a team environment.

Able to work under tight schedules and solve complex engineering problems.

Others: Prepare to travel. Occasional work in Malaysia, China & India for a short period.
