• Christel Group, announced Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Dina Brunei and Christel Technologies Singapore, a new company, Business Time Technologies Sdn Bhd had been formed to handle the production of these locally-made cell phones. The MoU was signed during the ceremony, which was held at the theatre of the Empire Hotel and Country Club.

 

• Christel Group of Companies has a very strong background in Research and Development in the field of ICT. It also has developed through the years the strong manufacturing technology know-how of producing the end products. The company in its portfolio has produced a couple of patents and ISO certifications which makes it one of the front fore runners in this industry. Under its product line portfolio Christel is able to design and produce ICT products such as mobile phone, data products such as 3.5G HSDPA modem as well as ICT infrastructure project which include among others the WIFI and WIMAX.
  
  It is the desire of this new company to capitalize on this growing market demand by utilizing the strength which both parties bring into this venture. Under this cooperation, Christel Group will provide the technology know-how in the area of GSM (Global System for Mobile phone) product design as well as the manufacturing skill sets to produce this product.
  
  Recognizing the volatile market competition of the mobile phone product, it is imperative that the Company needs to keep abreast of the technology advancement around it. In the effort to remain competitive and ability to sustain its market share and to fuel the growth, the Company will set up its own R&D capabilities in the near future to come up with new and innovative products. The Company will always focus its strategy on product differentiation, and providing superior product support.
  
  The establishment of this high tech industry will provide many economic opportunities to Brunei Darussalam. Among others, it would provide employment opportunities to the locals from the level of assembly line operators right to the technician and engineers positions. Transportation, logistics, packaging activities are another business opportunities that can be capitalized. 
  
  In full view of the growing demand for mobile phone products, Business Time Technologies plans to launch its first two product models to capture the high end SMART PDA phone as well as the mid-tier range of GSM full feature phones at competitive pricing in January 2009 from its own production lines in Brunei Darussalam, under its own corporate branding. The mobile phones produced from the Brunei production lines will be mainly exported overseas. The Company has targeted high potential market in the OIC (Organization of Islamic Countries) however its market strategy will initially focused on the regional market before it fully penetrates the developed western countries.
  
  Limited edition of 1000 sets of the SMART PDA phones will be out carrying the brand, D-Time  in the market end of September 2008 and they will be marketed under Business Time Technologies own corporate branding.
